Asian Outreach Cambodia’s Lvea Em project

SoChange is currently working with Asian Outreach Cambodia (AOC) in preparing a major three-year funding proposal to the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). If acquired as expected, these resources would go towards the development of AOC’s ambitious medical services project in the Lvea Em district in southern Cambodia.

In accordance with AOC’s general shift from a relief-oriented NGO to one concerned with long-term development, the Lvea Em initiative aims to increase the region’s ability to address problems such as tuberculosis prevalence, poor maternal health, and growing numbers of HIV/AIDS cases. However, in recognition of AOC’s past success in facilitating first-response relief efforts, the medical services project also seeks to improve on existing emergency evacuation capacity in the area.
